Srinivasa Ramanujan was an extraordinary Indian mathematician who made profound contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series, and continued fractions, among other areas. Born in 1887 in Erode, Tamil Nadu. Despite facing significant obstacles, including poverty and lack of formal education, Ramanujan's talent was recognized by a few scholars in India, which eventually led to his correspondence with British mathematician G.H. Hardy. Hardy recognized Ramanujan's genius and invited him to Cambridge University in England, where Ramanujan collaborated with Hardy and other mathematicians.
